# App Activity Report vs The Informant

The clearest difference is rating: The Informant at 5.0 against App Activity Report's 3.7. The Informant also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). App Activity Report's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Activity Report sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and The Informant sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Informant holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: App Activity Report has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

App Activity Report ships an update every 6 months, The Informant every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
