# WireVPN vs SoftVPN

The clearest difference is rating: WireVPN at 4.6 against SoftVPN's 3.7. WireVPN also leads on review sentiment (69% vs 33%) and in-app purchases (none vs 6). SoftVPN's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SoftVPN sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. WireVPN asks for nothing beyond the download.

WireVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WireVPN has 110K ratings behind it against 119, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of WireVPN's written reviews are positive against 33% of SoftVPN's.

WireVPN ships an update every 2 months, SoftVPN every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
