# Mobooks vs elyra

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mobooks at 85% against elyra's 13%. Mobooks also leads on rating (4.8 vs 2.0) and ratings volume (6K vs 13). elyra's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mobooks sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and elyra sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $9.90 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mobooks holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mobooks has 6K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Mobooks's written reviews are positive against 13% of elyra's.

Mobooks ships an update every 9 months, elyra fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
