# PDF NOW vs PDF Compression

The clearest difference is ads: PDF NOW at none against PDF Compression's shown. PDF NOW also leads on ratings volume (32 vs 5) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.5). PDF Compression's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF NOW sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and PDF Compression sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Compression holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF NOW has 32 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

PDF NOW ships an update every 2 weeks, PDF Compression every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
