# Tempt vs BookWatch

The clearest difference is ads: Tempt at none against BookWatch's shown. Tempt also leads on review sentiment (76% vs 51%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). BookWatch's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (14K vs 1.7K). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tempt sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and BookWatch sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Tempt against 4.7 for BookWatch. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BookWatch has 14K ratings behind it against 1.7K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 76% of Tempt's written reviews are positive against 51% of BookWatch's.

Tempt ships an update every 3 weeks, BookWatch every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
