# Tempt vs Poetry Reader

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Poetry Reader at none against Tempt's 10. Poetry Reader also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Tempt's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 1) and chart position (#90 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tempt sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Poetry Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Poetry Reader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tempt has 1.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tempt ships an update every 3 weeks, Poetry Reader every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
