# ReadKit vs Mini Briefs

The clearest difference is rating: Mini Briefs at 5.0 against ReadKit's 4.4. Mini Briefs also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). ReadKit's advantage is ratings volume (124 vs 1) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ReadKit sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Mini Briefs sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mini Briefs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ReadKit has 124 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ReadKit ships an update every 2 weeks, Mini Briefs every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
