# Egern vs FSend

The clearest difference is rating: FSend at 5.0 against Egern's 4.2. FSend also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Egern's advantage is ratings volume (79 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Egern sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and FSend sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FSend holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Egern has 79 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Egern ships an update every 2 weeks, FSend monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
