# EZText vs txt Editor

The clearest difference is review sentiment: EZText at 79% against txt Editor's 25%. EZText also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). txt Editor's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. txt Editor sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. EZText asks for nothing beyond the download.

txt Editor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EZText has 31 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of EZText's written reviews are positive against 25% of txt Editor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EZText ships an update every 6 weeks, txt Editor weekly. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
