# Onlynote vs Memopad

Onlynote and Memopad both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Memopad's written reviews are positive against 75% of Onlynote's. Onlynote's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Onlynote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Memopad sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Memopad holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Onlynote has 93 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of Onlynote's written reviews are positive against 100% of Memopad's.

Onlynote ships an update fortnightly, Memopad every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
