# Vocalist vs Notey

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Notey at 84% against Vocalist's 27%. Vocalist's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 239). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vocalist sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Notey sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Vocalist holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vocalist has 1.9K ratings behind it against 239, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Vocalist's written reviews are positive against 84% of Notey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Vocalist ships an update monthly, Notey fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
