# DrawnTogether vs AmberPaint

The clearest difference is review sentiment: DrawnTogether at 82% against AmberPaint's 25%. DrawnTogether also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17). AmberPaint's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.6) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DrawnTogether sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and AmberPaint sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AmberPaint holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AmberPaint has 137 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of DrawnTogether's written reviews are positive against 25% of AmberPaint's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DrawnTogether ships an update every 5 months, AmberPaint every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
