# MaxBms vs Verde VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Verde VPN at 4.7 against MaxBms's 4.0. Verde VPN also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (325 vs 3). MaxBms's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Verde VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Verde VPN has 325 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of MaxBms's written reviews are positive against 50% of Verde VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MaxBms ships an update every 8 months, Verde VPN every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
