# AFV Recognition vs CAT

The clearest difference is price: CAT at Free against AFV Recognition's $5.99. CAT also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 4 months). AFV Recognition's advantage is ratings volume (23 vs 2) and chart position (#157 vs unranked). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

CAT is free to download; AFV Recognition costs $5.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CAT holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AFV Recognition has 23 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
