# FlashCat Speed vs Tom VPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Tom VPN at 83% against FlashCat Speed's 46%. Tom VPN also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). FlashCat Speed's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlashCat Speed sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Tom VPN sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FlashCat Speed holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3K and 1.4K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of FlashCat Speed's written reviews are positive against 83% of Tom VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlashCat Speed ships an update monthly, Tom VPN every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
