# BerryComm vs Shellie

The clearest difference is update cadence: Shellie at every 2 days against BerryComm's every 3 months. BerryComm's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for BerryComm against 5.0 for Shellie. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BerryComm has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BerryComm ships an update every 3 months, Shellie every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
