# Elden Map vs Crimson Map

The clearest difference is price: Crimson Map at Free against Elden Map's $1.99. Crimson Map also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (271 vs 41). Elden Map's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 24%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Crimson Map is free to download; Elden Map costs $1.99 up front. Elden Map sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Crimson Map sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Crimson Map holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crimson Map has 271 ratings behind it against 41, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Elden Map's written reviews are positive against 24% of Crimson Map's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Elden Map ships an update every 5 days, Crimson Map every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
