# ForSound vs hearing device

ForSound and hearing device both sit at 2.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 33% of hearing device's written reviews are positive against 20% of ForSound's. ForSound's advantage is ratings volume (26 vs 5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 2.7 for ForSound against 2.6 for hearing device. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ForSound has 26 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 20% of ForSound's written reviews are positive against 33% of hearing device's.

ForSound ships an update every 2 months, hearing device every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
