# Backgammon vs Backgammon

The clearest difference is ads: Backgammon at none against Backgammon's shown. Backgammon also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 11 months) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Backgammon's advantage is ratings volume (962 vs 4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Backgammon against 4.5 for Backgammon. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon has 962 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Backgammon ships an update every 11 months, Backgammon every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
