# IDefy vs OmniTAK

The clearest difference is update cadence: OmniTAK at every 2 days against IDefy's every 6 weeks. IDefy's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

IDefy ships an update every 6 weeks, OmniTAK every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
