# Gabb Messenger vs SFCA

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SFCA at 50% against Gabb Messenger's 19%. Gabb Messenger's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (924 vs 20). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gabb Messenger holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gabb Messenger has 924 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 19% of Gabb Messenger's written reviews are positive against 50% of SFCA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gabb Messenger ships an update every 5 weeks, SFCA every 6 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
