# Luep vs Former

The clearest difference is monetization model: Luep at free against Former's ad-supported. Luep also leads on ratings volume (19 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Luep against 5.0 for Former. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Luep has 19 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Luep ships an update weekly, Former every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
