# Desktop Note vs Lock Screen Notes

The clearest difference is monetization model: Desktop Note at free with in-app purchases against Lock Screen Notes's subscription. Desktop Note also leads on ratings volume (19 vs 2). Lock Screen Notes's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Desktop Note sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 3 months and Lock Screen Notes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lock Screen Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Desktop Note has 19 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
