# MapGenie vs Rune Helper

The clearest difference is rating: MapGenie at 4.8 against Rune Helper's 3.5. MapGenie also leads on ratings volume (2.6K vs 2). Rune Helper's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 26 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Rune Helper sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MapGenie holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MapGenie has 2.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MapGenie ships an update every 26 months, Rune Helper monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
