# Agile Forecasting vs Backroom Journal

The clearest difference is update cadence: Backroom Journal at every 3 weeks against Agile Forecasting's every 12 months. Backroom Journal also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Agile Forecasting ships an update every 12 months, Backroom Journal every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
