# SmartPal vs SparqGo

The clearest difference is rating: SparqGo at 4.9 against SmartPal's 3.3. SparqGo also leads on ratings volume (6.1K vs 7) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). SmartPal's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 39%) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 17.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SparqGo holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SparqGo has 6.1K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of SmartPal's written reviews are positive against 39% of SparqGo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SmartPal ships an update every 6 months, SparqGo every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
