# Paint.Ms vs AmberPaint

The clearest difference is rating: AmberPaint at 4.4 against Paint.Ms's 2.6. AmberPaint also leads on ratings volume (137 vs 7). Paint.Ms's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paint.Ms sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and AmberPaint sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AmberPaint holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AmberPaint has 137 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Paint.Ms's written reviews are positive against 25% of AmberPaint's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
