# VPN MAX vs Plotava

The clearest difference is rating: Plotava at 5.0 against VPN MAX's 4.5. VPN MAX's advantage is ratings volume (123 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN MAX sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.00 per month and Plotava sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Plotava holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN MAX has 123 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

VPN MAX ships an update every 5 days, Plotava every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
