# Diary Book vs Lucky journal

Diary Book and Lucky journal both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Lucky journal's written reviews are positive against 80% of Diary Book's. Lucky journal also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Diary Book's advantage is ratings volume (313 vs 32). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diary Book sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Lucky journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Diary Book against 4.7 for Lucky journal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diary Book has 313 ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of Diary Book's written reviews are positive against 100% of Lucky journal's.

Diary Book ships an update every 3 months, Lucky journal monthly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
