# Diary Book vs Daily Notes

The clearest difference is update cadence: Daily Notes at every 3 weeks against Diary Book's every 3 months. Daily Notes also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 80%). Diary Book's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (214 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diary Book sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Daily Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Diary Book holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diary Book has 214 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Diary Book's written reviews are positive against 100% of Daily Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Diary Book ships an update every 3 months, Daily Notes every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
