# Affirmation Studio vs Self

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Self at 100% against Affirmation Studio's 57%. Self also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). Affirmation Studio's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 12 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Affirmation Studio sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Self sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Self holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Affirmation Studio has 68 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of Affirmation Studio's written reviews are positive against 100% of Self's.

Affirmation Studio ships an update fortnightly, Self every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
