# Paths & Danger vs Chat RPG

The clearest difference is rating: Paths & Danger at 3.6 against Chat RPG's 3.0. Paths & Danger also leads on ratings volume (12 vs 4). Chat RPG's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 20%) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paths & Danger sells 9 one-off in-app purchases and Chat RPG sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Paths & Danger holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Paths & Danger's written reviews are positive against 50% of Chat RPG's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Paths & Danger ships an update every 5 months, Chat RPG every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
