# Favoread vs NovelBar

The clearest difference is rating: NovelBar at 4.1 against Favoread's 3.0. NovelBar also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 281). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Favoread sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days and NovelBar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NovelBar holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NovelBar has 2.2K ratings behind it against 281, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of Favoread's written reviews are positive against 23% of NovelBar's.

Favoread ships an update every 2 months, NovelBar every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
