# Favoread vs Cat

The clearest difference is rating: Favoread at 3.0 against Cat's 1.7. Favoread also leads on ratings volume (278 vs 3) and chart position (#194 vs unranked). Cat's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Favoread sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days. Cat asks for nothing beyond the download.

Favoread holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Favoread has 278 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Favoread's written reviews are positive against 29% of Cat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Favoread ships an update every 2 months, Cat every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
