# MasterDex vs Pokedex Cards

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MasterDex at 87% against Pokedex Cards's 50%. MasterDex also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 2). Pokedex Cards's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MasterDex sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Pokedex Cards sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pokedex Cards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MasterDex has 1.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of MasterDex's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pokedex Cards's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MasterDex ships an update every 3 weeks, Pokedex Cards every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
