# Sail Accelerator vs BTGuard VPN

The clearest difference is update cadence: BTGuard VPN at every 3 weeks against Sail Accelerator's every 15 months. Sail Accelerator's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sail Accelerator sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and BTGuard VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sail Accelerator ships an update every 15 months, BTGuard VPN every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
