# MyBeaconer vs OTAC auth

The clearest difference is update cadence: OTAC auth at every 6 weeks against MyBeaconer's every 6 months. OTAC auth also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MyBeaconer ships an update every 6 months, OTAC auth every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
