# SIE Exam Prep vs SIE Exam Pro

The clearest difference is rating: SIE Exam Pro at 5.0 against SIE Exam Prep's 3.9. SIE Exam Prep's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SIE Exam Prep sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SIE Exam Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SIE Exam Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SIE Exam Prep has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SIE Exam Prep ships an update every 2 days, SIE Exam Pro every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
