# Learn Russian (Beginners) vs Lingovo

The clearest difference is rating: Learn Russian (Beginners) at 4.7 against Lingovo's 3.7. Learn Russian (Beginners) also leads on ratings volume (130 vs 3). Lingovo's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs monthly) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn Russian (Beginners) sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Lingovo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Learn Russian (Beginners) holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn Russian (Beginners) has 130 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Learn Russian (Beginners)'s written reviews are positive against 86% of Lingovo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Learn Russian (Beginners) ships an update monthly, Lingovo every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
