# MSI Router vs Gear Link

The clearest difference is rating: Gear Link at 4.3 against MSI Router's 1.4. MSI Router's advantage is ratings volume (61 vs 3) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 16.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gear Link holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MSI Router has 61 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 3% of MSI Router's written reviews are positive against 0% of Gear Link's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MSI Router ships an update monthly, Gear Link every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
