# Afterlight vs OffiPhoto

The clearest difference is monetization model: OffiPhoto at free with in-app purchases against Afterlight's subscription. OffiPhoto also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Afterlight's advantage is ratings volume (171 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Afterlight sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and OffiPhoto sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OffiPhoto holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Afterlight has 171 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Afterlight ships an update fortnightly, OffiPhoto weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
