# CoachCat vs MyTrainPal

The clearest difference is rating: MyTrainPal at 5.0 against CoachCat's 4.3. MyTrainPal also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks). CoachCat's advantage is ratings volume (81 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CoachCat sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and MyTrainPal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MyTrainPal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CoachCat has 81 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CoachCat ships an update every 2 weeks, MyTrainPal every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
