# CarsonCam vs snapmail

The clearest difference is monetization model: CarsonCam at free against snapmail's free with in-app purchases. CarsonCam also leads on ratings volume (11 vs 1) and device support (4 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for CarsonCam against 5.0 for snapmail. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CarsonCam has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

CarsonCam ships an update monthly, snapmail every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
