# Ridwell vs Planet Wild

The clearest difference is monetization model: Ridwell at free with in-app purchases against Planet Wild's subscription. Ridwell also leads on ratings volume (9K vs 406). Planet Wild's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (94% vs 73%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Ridwell against 4.9 for Planet Wild. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ridwell has 9K ratings behind it against 406, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of Ridwell's written reviews are positive against 94% of Planet Wild's.

Ridwell ships an update every 2 months, Planet Wild every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
