# Square Go vs Security Protex

The clearest difference is update cadence: Square Go at fortnightly against Security Protex's every 4 months. Square Go also leads on ratings volume (185K vs 1) and chart position (#48 vs unranked). Security Protex's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Square Go against 5.0 for Security Protex. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Square Go has 185K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
