# Granula Synth vs Frequency

The clearest difference is rating: Frequency at 3.9 against Granula Synth's 1.8. Frequency also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 25 months) and ratings volume (24 vs 4). Granula Synth's advantage is review sentiment (20% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Granula Synth sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Frequency sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Frequency holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Frequency has 24 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Granula Synth's written reviews are positive against 0% of Frequency's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Granula Synth ships an update every 25 months, Frequency every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
