# Sonic Eject vs Water Wave

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sonic Eject at free with in-app purchases against Water Wave's subscription. Sonic Eject also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). Water Wave's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 17). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sonic Eject sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per year and Water Wave sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Sonic Eject against 4.6 for Water Wave. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Water Wave has 1.3K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sonic Eject ships an update every 3 days, Water Wave every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
