# Calender vs Countdown Widget

The clearest difference is rating: Countdown Widget at 4.7 against Calender's 1.0. Countdown Widget also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 12 months). Calender's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.5). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calender sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Countdown Widget sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown Widget has 38 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Calender ships an update every 12 months, Countdown Widget every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on August 18, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
