# Bambu Handy vs Mahjong Card Studio

The clearest difference is rating: Bambu Handy at 4.8 against Mahjong Card Studio's 4.3. Bambu Handy also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (39K vs 6). Mahjong Card Studio's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 11 days) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bambu Handy sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Mahjong Card Studio sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bambu Handy holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bambu Handy has 39K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Bambu Handy's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mahjong Card Studio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bambu Handy ships an update every 11 days, Mahjong Card Studio every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
