# State Railroad vs Button Push!

The clearest difference is rating: Button Push! at 4.7 against State Railroad's 4.1. Button Push! also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). State Railroad's advantage is review sentiment (35% vs 20%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. State Railroad sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Button Push! sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Button Push! holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.8K and 4.2K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of State Railroad's written reviews are positive against 20% of Button Push!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

State Railroad ships an update every 3 weeks, Button Push! weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
